Data Quality & Data Management – Senior Business Analyst

Our client a top-tier Foreign Bank is seeking a Data Quality and Data Management Senior Business Analyst to facilitate partnering between client’s business units and their Chief Data Office (CDO). The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to build relationships with key members of client’s business functions, understand their requirements and data challenges, and identify opportunities where client’s CDOs can support and partner with the teams. The candidate’s aim will be to show how the data solutions can support the delivery of either regulatory milestones, or to use Data Analytics capabilities to deliver tangible benefits to clients’ business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding appropriate regulatory initiatives impacting client’s business functions
  • Supporting client’s Data initiatives and Future State architecture program
  • Work with CDO teams to ensure business requirements are met in full
  • Partner with the Data Analytics team to identify opportunities to deliver benefits to client’s business functions
  • Act as a thought leader to define the data agenda for client’s Capital Markets business functions, and look to expand the range of fields in which data, analytics and insight adds value to decision-making
  • Drive the adoption of Data Operating Models, data projects and initiatives for clients
  • Provide informed and independent data-driven expertise and insight
  • Work with clients’ operations teams to define, challenge and shape data projects which support their data agendas at a global level
  • Anticipate future business needs and requirements and develop plans and proposals accordingly
  • Influence the agenda of stakeholders based on own ideas and thought leadership
  • Deliver analytical solutions designed to improve business profitability
  • Facilitate root cause analysis, review, and resolution of cross line of business Data Quality Issues raised as part of business self-certification, audit, or external regulators
  • Drive the sharing of best practices across teams, in terms of technical approaches, data governance and general project management and documentation
  • Identify, understand and translate key emerging trends in analytics practice across financial services and other sectors
Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ previous experience (consulting or full-time) at a tier 1 financial institution in data management, data governance, data quality and related activities
  • Experience with design of data control across systems and processes, implementation of governance policies and writing of data quality rules / dimensions
  • Ability to reconcile multiple conflicting priorities and develop action plans that meet both short and long-term business needs
  • Advanced capability in translating complex and/or technical work and insights into straightforward business language, and the ability to develop this capability within teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets products and processes
  • Highly developed analytical skills to leverage current and emerging data and analytical techniques to address business challenges and opportunities in an actionable way.
  • Ability to demonstrate data-led thought leadership to challenge and enhance business strategy and implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with highly developed capacity to constructively challenge and influence executive management
  • Ability to lead, motivate other senior stakeholders, managers and drive change at a global level
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills set
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions
  • Proven track record of delivery against core initiatives
Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with the latest thought leadership in data governance practices, data quality strategies, and data lineage methods a plus
  • Proven track record of delivery against core regulatory data initiatives including CCAR, DFAST, BCBS 239, FCR,
  • Knowledge and experience of Data Management principals and their practical applications preferably within Risk & Finance function (not required)
  • Experience with planning and execution of data controls and system adoption
  • Previous experience within the data analytics, developing KPIs, and using advanced AI/Machine learning based technologies
  • Ability to build a collaborative and constructive partnership with relevant project teams and/or SMEs for content development
  • Good understanding of the global banking & trading businesses including products, services, processes, and Risk & Finance
  • Good understanding of value generation in clients’ Capital Markets business models and strategies
