Data Processing & Reporting Senior Analyst – Data Management, Capital Markets

The Capital Markets Data Management team in New York has a wide range of responsibilities that include data governance, data analysis, data process automation, and report automation. Not only do we service the business by automating data sourcing and analytical reporting, but we also provide critical support to the front office teams by helping them understand the data and reports that are generated and helping to facilitate the resolution of any data issues identified. The team member will be focusing on the reporting needs of the sales organization by reviewing and documenting business requirements, conducting data analysis, and delivering a consolidated and automated reporting dashboard that aggregates key metrics for the region. In addition, the resource will help to foster adoption of the reporting by providing required training to our end users.

Responsibilities: General
  • Working with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize reporting needs
  • Evaluating the reporting needs to determine the proper data sourcing strategies
  • Conduct the required analysis of the data to ensure objectives are being met and data is of sufficient quality
  • Leverage existing tools to facilitate automation of data processing
  • Design and development of key reports to support report automation
Data Governance, Analysis & Reporting
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand the reporting needs and the data required to satisfy the report requirements
  • Understand the people, process, and technology behind the data required for reporting in order to make clear decisions on the appropriate data sourcing and collection strategy
  • Develop a deep understanding of the data to understand any gaps in current data collection practices and facilitate remediation
  • Conduct analysis of the data and ensure required attributes and keys are present to support the required manipulation and dimensioning of the data
  • Ensure there is clear ownership and data can be maintained in a sustainable manner to support ongoing reporting
  • Leverage tools to automate the processing and normalization of data
  • Ensure appropriate permissions are in place so that data is shared on a need to know basis
Reporting
  • Provide analysis and reports by performing data extraction, analysis, manipulation, reporting and formatting
  • Develop special reporting templates & tools along with IT support to achieve the  above
  • Use tools like Tableau to structure and automate queries in order to have current data in reports
  • Perform routine maintenance and support enhancement requests of developed reports
  • Show initiative in suggesting improvements on reports
  • Provide end user training as required
Qualifications:
  • Solid experience working in a multi-cultural team and with internal clients
  • Understanding of Capital Markets and a Commercial mindset
  • Very strong communication & presentation skills both verbal and written
  • Strong experience in Project management
  • Strong analytical skills (business and data) with understanding on how to manipulate and transform data to produce valuable and relevant information for the business
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, very strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Capital Markets products / processes / systems business knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office suite; VBA macros are advantage
  • Previous Data Governance / Business Analysis experience is a plus
  • Technical Experience:
    • Expert knowledge with Tableau software, additional dashboarding experience is a plus
    • Strong experience with data processing languages (such as Python or R), Alteryx is a plus
    • Excellent knowledge of SQL and supporting tools (SQL Developer, etc)
    • Knowledge of additional programming languages (such as Java) is a plus
    • Strong familiarity with data warehouses, database technologies, and concepts
    • Strong familiarity with data transfer mechanisms between systems (API’s, XML’s, etc)
