Corporate Actions Specialist (Dividends & Fixed Income)

Our client a top-tier Management and Strategy consulting firm is seeking to bring on several Corporate Actions Specialists with experience with Corporate Actions events i.e., Mergers, Acquisitions, Conversions, Tenders, Spin-Off’s, Stock Dividends, Stock Splits and Stock Reverse Splits.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 2-5 Years of relative working experience within Corporate Actions at banking and finance institutions
Corporate Actions Mandatory Experience:

  • Requires strong understanding of US Corporate Action events including, mandatory events such as mergers, conversions, tenders, spin-offs, stock dividends and splits
  • Strong understanding of tax consequences for mandatory events including 302C and NRA
  • Strong understanding or market practice around claims and counterparty payments
  • Processing knowledge in Broadridge’s BPS application and understanding of complex stock record positions is a plus
  • Knowledge of FED and DTC processing including CA Web, SmartTrack, Postedge
  • Ability to create wire payments in Swift message format types MT202, MT103, MT599
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messaging is a plus, primarily MT564/565/566/567/568 messages
  • Act as liaison with internal/external business partners
Corporate Actions - Dividends

  • Requires strong understanding dividend calculation and processing, products will include US and Non-US equity products
  • Strong understanding of tax consequences for dividend events including NRA and knowledge of DTCC EDS process as well relief at source processing
  • Strong understanding or market practice around claims and counter-party payments
Corporate Actions – Fixed Income

  • Requires extensive US market knowledge of P&I and coupon processing for FED and DTCC eligible products
  • Should be familiar with reviewing and understanding DTCC event announcement screens to scrub event data announced to custody clients
  • Should know how to create coupon and P&I entitlement calculations utilizing bond information as well as being familiar with reading and understanding remittance reports
  • Strong understanding or market practice around claims and counter-party payments
  • Processing knowledge in Broadridge’s BPS application and understanding of complex stock record positions is a plus
  • Review cash/stock record reconciliations, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution on breaks
