Operational & Data Risk Manager

The position is part of the CIB Americas Transversal OPC team and will be responsible for managing the CORRAL (Conduct & Ops Risk Reporting & Analytics) Platform. The platform is a region-wide Data Hub used for non-financial risk data reporting. The person will interact with management and direct stakeholders across numerous domains and teams to address the business needs, work closely with IT to manage and develop the platform’s changes, and continuously align with stakeholders at CIB Head Office and Bank Group level to ensure alignment with global initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing overall platform governance with IT and business representatives
  • Serving as the link between platform sponsorship, the business domains and their functional needs, IT and their development status, and Enterprise Data Management and their data governance framework
  • Ensure the creation and production of standardized reports (inc. facilitate workshops for the design of reports)
  • Following-up with stakeholders to capture any new business needs (eg. new data request), additional workflow tools or POCs, etc.
  • Contribute to the development of analytics use case jointly with domains
  • Lead on the functional side the changes of data sources and the onboarding of new sources
  • Contribute on the functional side to the update and maintenance of Data Management (Data dictionary), Data Governance (roles and responsibilities) and Data Quality (DQ rules) frameworks
  • Conduct a comprehensive change management plan for the bank to leverage as reporting teams transfer from existing reporting tools to CORRAL
  • Facilitate regular training session for new users and prepare corresponding materials
  • Run the defined target operating model, standards of care, and data security protocols with IT and the Enterprise Data Management function
  • Maintaining alignment with CIB Head Office and Bank Group stakeholders to ensure inter-dependencies between global programs (i.e. CIB Convergence, IS Program) are met
  • Ensuring platform compliance with global taxonomies
Qualifications:

  • Preferred 3+ years’ experience in financial services or management consulting
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance, business, or a related field)
  • Knowledge of operation risk framework
  • Knowledge of the underlying operating and business principles within the banking industry
  • Prior experience in working with managing, consolidating, and leveraging data
  • Ability to manage a large-scale project with multiple stakeholders across the bank to ensure timelines, deliverables, and goals are met
  • An outstanding ability to apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written).
  • Strong problem solving and collaboration skills in interacting with both management-level executives and direct platform users
  • Ability to prioritize and tackle various action items across the project
